Cozy

cats inside

The cats and I watch Portland’s first snowfall from our cozy space inside, but I shiver at the thought of the multitudes of homeless. What has to happen before we begin to use our collective power to rise up and begin the healing transformation?

Of ourselves and all life forms on this beautful, suffering planet.

  1. It is true that some of us can enjoy the snow, the sound of a hard rain, or the frost that coats each leaf and fence post with hoary white, while others shiver, homeless, hungry, fleeing terror and oppression. They are unlikely to see the beauty we enjoy from our cozy windows, Life seems a dichotomy of pain and joy. And we are called to do what we can to alleviate the suffering of those less fortunate. And to suffer the guilt of not doing enough. 😦
